#413 Sea mammals and wild animals in Vestnik Bay

We invite you to visit one of the pristine nooks of Kamchatka - Vestnik Bay. The bay belongs to the Yuzhno-Kamchatsky reserve. This is the area to the south-east of Petropavlovsk. You will be transferred to a small lodge by helicopter and spend several days there exploring the magnificent bay and its surroundings. The scenery is very spectacular and you will have a unique chance to shoot sea mammals, wild animals and sea birds.

Departure: March - April (on group request).

Day 1. Arrive in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Accommodation in a hotel. A visit to the museum of Local Lore. Drive to Paratunka resort to bath in the swimming pool with thermal water. Return to hotel.

Day 2. Transfer to Vestnik Bay by helicopter MI-8 (1 hr 20 min). Along the way we fly over the caldera of active Mutnovsky volcano and pass Gorely, Ksudach, Zheltovsky volcanoes. We land on the shore of Pacific Ocean to be transferred to a lodge by snowmobiles (4 km). Overnight in a wooden house.

Day 3-8. An excursion to Utashut island by motor boat (if weather conditions are acceptable) where you can make perfect shots of seals and see otters. Day trips by snowmobiles around the bay for watching birds and wild animals, including sea eagle, hare, fox and even possibly a bear waking up from hibernation. Our wildlife guides will make everything possible to show you as much as possible of the natural life of the bay and its unique fauna. Return to the base for overnight.

Day 9. Return flight to Petropavlovsk. Along the way land on the Khodutka hot springs to bath. Transfer to the hotel. Souvenir shopping and visiting the local market.

Day 10. Drive to the airport for your departure home.

Group size is 7-12.

Included are accommodation (hotel Edelweis), bеd&breakfast in the city, full board en route, all transfers and local transportation, helicopter, guide, interpreter and cook services, camp equipment, museum entrance, visa invitation and visa registration, permits.

Excluded: plane tickets, alcohol, insurance, sleeping bags and mats.

Note: Any day's schedule is flexible due to the weather conditions as in spring time the weather is quite unpredictable. Snowstorms with strong wind are possible. Temperature: daytime - +2+6 C, nighttime - -2- 0 C.
