We invite you to experience boundless and mysterious Russia, trace the contrasts of nature, treasures of its ancient history and antique legends.
During this trip you will cross the whole Russia and visit such cities as Moscow, Irkutsk, Khabarovsk and as well enjoy the unique nature of the Baikal Lake and Kamchatka peninsula.
Our journey begins in Moscow – the capital of Russia. While being in Moscow you will have an excursion around the city and visit such famous places as Kremlin, Armory Chamber, Metro, some Cathedrals and Old Arbat– one of the legendary streets here. From Moscow the airplane will bring us 6 hours ahead – to the capital of Eastern Siberia – Irkutsk city where we start our way to Baikal - one of the most perfect creations of nature. The Baikal Lake is the oldest, the deepest and the biggest reservoir of fresh water (20% of whole fresh water reserve in the world). You will have a unique chance to visit the Olkhon Island that is famous for numerous archaeological monuments and nice microclimate (the quantity of sunny days here is nearly the same as in Italy). During the trip in Baikal you will explore its beautiful nature, life style of local inhabitants, mysterious stories and legends. You will also have an opportunity to fish for omul and taste real Baikal “Ukha” (Russian fish soup).
The next destination of our trip is Khabarovsk city – the capital of Russia Far East where we get by famous Transsiberian railway. First class comfort train within 2 days will bring us through the boundless expanse of taiga forest, by-passing many small villages, towns and old buildings of the railroad terminals. Khabarovsk city extends along the right shore of the Amur river for 50 km. You will have bus sightseeing, explore the center of the city that is masterly built on the three hills, walk along the quay and have a boat trip on the Amur river.
From Khabarovsk we take a flight to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky – the centre of the Kamchatka peninsula. Kamchatka is one of the most enigmatic and unexplored places on Earth. It is a land of great volcanic activity (totally 160 volcanoes, 29 of them are active), rapid mountain rivers full of salmon, natural hot springs, big population of brown bear and abundance of other rare species of plants and animals as well as sea mammals. We will explore Central Kamchatka and an ancient mountain range – volcanoes Ostry and Plosky Tolbachik and new Tolbachik cones which were formed in the result of Great Tolbachik Fissure Eruption 1975-76. We also invite you to visit the «Kamchatka Switzerland» – small Esso settlement – the center of the Even people culture (one of four indigenous people in Kamchatka). During the trip you will have a chance to fly to the Valley of Geysers which is considered to be one of the greatest discoveries of the 20th century. The valley will greet you with the streams of steaming vapour and sparkling water splashes. You will not find anywhere in the world something equal to the Valley of Geysers with such a dense concentration of the spouting springs and geysers on the restricted area. Once you come to Kamchatka you will never forget its spectacular views, mighty volcanoes and geysers, unique and mysterious nature.

Day 1. Arrive in Moscow. Transfer to the Ukraina/Kosmos hotel (****). Free time for walks around the city.
Day 2. A sightseeing city tour by bus, lunch in the city. Walking excursion along the Old Arbat street and Moscow Metro. Dinner independent.
Day 3. Excursion to Kremlin, two cathedrals and optional visit to the Armory Chamber. Transfer to the airport, departure for Irkutsk.
Day 4. Arrival in Irkutsk. Transfer to Olkhon Island (300 km, 7-8 hours driving) with stop for lunch in the Petrovo village (independent). Further we are brought to Olkhon by ferry and accommodated in the tourist camp “Harmony” in felted yurtas for 4 people. Dinner in the yurta-restaurant. Banya (Russian sauna) is available for extra charge.
Day 5. Drive to Khuzhir settlement, excursion around the village, visit the museum of Local Lore. There you will be able to see an antique collection, showing the islanders’ culture and their way of living. Visit the Shamanka cliff. Return to the yurta camp.
Day 6. Drive to the northern extremity of Olkhon Island, where the Khoboy Cape is located. If we are lucky we may be able to see the unique freshwater Baikal seal. The journey will remind you of jeep-safari as the road goes along the woods, sand fields and steppe. Return to the yurta camp.
Day 7. AM – we take a boat trip to get acquainted with industrial fishing. You will be able to try fishing with nets from the boat. In the evening at yurta camp you are welcomed for farewell dinner, after which you will be enjoy an evening tea and talks near the campfire.
Day 8. Drive to the ferry station. Return to Irkutsk. Accommodation at the hotel ***. Evening sightseeing tour by bus.
Day 9. Transfer to the railway station. Departure for Khabarovsk by train. Meals in the diner (independent).
Day 10. Journey by Transsiberian railway.
Day 11. Arrive in Khabarovsk – the Far Eastern capital of Russia. Transfer to Intourist*** hotel, rest and unwind from travel.
Day 12. City tour with visiting the museum. After lunch walks around the city center, quay, optional boat trip on the Amur River (additionally paid).
Day 13. Transfer to the airport and departure to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Arrival to PKC. Transfer to the Avacha*** hotel. Sightseeing city tour by bus and foot with visiting city center, historical monuments and viewing spot.
Day 14. Drive to Central Kamchatka to the ferry across the Kamchatka river. Stop for lunch in Cossack settlement Milkovo (8-9 hours by off-road truck). Our way goes along the picturesque road. Low vegetation of the riverside will gradually change and you will see the high conifer and birch-tree woods. Overnight in tents.
Day 15. Drive to Lunokhodchikov base camp. Lunokhodchikov base is a camp station of volcanologists where the first testing of Moon Research Vehicles took place. The base is located near the foot of Tolbachinksky volcano massif. We will see the real “moonscape” – boundless cinder fields, covered with huge boulders, pieces of stark lava with fantastic shape and volcanic bombs. Overnight in tents.
Day 16. Ascend Plosky Tolbachik vlc. (3085 m, 10 hours). Enjoy the panoramic view of Klyuchevskaya group of volcanoes – Klyuchevskoy, Kamen, Zimina, Udina, Bezymyanny from the top of Plosky Tolbachik.
Day 17. Excursion to the cones of the Northern vent. The cones appeared as a result of Great Tolbachik Fissure Eruption of 1975-76, when along the 18 km-vent 3 cinder cones appeared. Hot lava and pyroclastic spouted out of the vent, and the dispersion of volcanic bombs and debris ran up to 3 km. Ascend the I (229 m) and the II (278 m) cones. Overnight in tents at the base camp.
Day 18. Drive to Esso – the Even settlement (5-6 hours). Accommodation in a private hotel.
Day 19. A day of rest in Esso – visit the local museum, gallery, folk performance of National Even Ensemble. Bathe and relax in the swimming pool with thermal water.
Day 20. Drive back to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (520 km, 8-9 hours).
Day 21. Drive to helicopter site for a 6-hour join-in excursion to the world-known Valley of Geysers (to be paid additionally on spot) with landing in the valley, excursion around the area and lunch. During the flight you will enjoy the beauty and greatness of Karymsky and Maly Semyachik volcanoes. As soon as helicopter MI-8 lands you will realise why we call the Valley the "Pearl of Kamchatka".
Day 22. Free time – souvenir shopping, visiting the local market. Transfer to the airport for your departure to Moscow. Arrival to Moscow. Transfer to Rossija/Cosmos hotel. Accommodation, rest and unwind from travel. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 23. Free time. Transfer to the airport for your departure home.
